The purpose of the Iowa Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation (ITOVR) is to provide services to American Indians with disabilities residing within the ITOVR designation following seven county area: Kay, Logan, Lincoln, Noble, Pawnee, Payne, and Pottawatomie. These services are consistent with individual strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, and most importantly, informed choice, so that American Indians with disabilities may prepare for and engage in gainful employment. Iowa Tribe of Oklahoma Vocational Rehabilitation & Transitional Services Application: Oklahoma Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation (OKTVR): American Indian Vocational Rehabilitation Programs assist eligible American Indians with disabilities in becoming employed through programs offered by a number of Tribes or Nations in Oklahoma. Transition Services: Our goal is to empower Native Youth with disabilities consistent with their individual strengths, resources, abilities, capabilities, and informed choice to prepare to transition from school to work or post-secondary education.

OKDRS Vocational Rehabilitation & Visual Services Application: OKDRS has a Tribal Liaison to facilitate a cooperative effort between Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services and all the Oklahoma Tribal Vocational Rehabilitation Programs towards the highest quality vocational rehabilitation services to American Indians with disabilities.

Eligibility

  • Reside within the ITOVR seven counties service area.
  • Must be enrolled in a federally recognized tribe.
  • Must have a physical or mental disability documented by a physician. Disability must be impediment to employment.
  • Must be able to benefit from vocational rehabilitation services, resulting in obtaining/retaining competitive employment or enhancing current employment.

Transition Services

Our mission for the Vocational Rehabilitation Transitional Services program is to develop specialized services to American Indian High School students with disabilities transition from school to work or post-secondary education. Services that we can provide to those who quality are assistance in testing fees (ACT/SAT), provide resume building, work clothing for new jobs, tuition assistance, assistive devices such as hearing aids, walkers, wheelchairs, eye glasses, along physical and mental evaluations.
