Equine Program

The mission of the Iowa Tribe’s Equine Program is to provide tribal members and the public with a comprehensive riding lesson program, offering a range of group and private lesson options in addition to increase opportunities in the areas of horsemanship.

Current program activities:

  • The Equine Program has 16 horses and an arena to provide a safe riding environment for new riders and to practice for play day events
  • Participate in parades (e.g., Red Earth parade, Comanche Fair, and local round-up clubs)
  • Provide therapeutic riding for special needs children
  • Work with a local veterinarian to develop a management plan to provide long term care for horses
