Equine Program
The mission of the Iowa Tribe’s Equine Program is to provide tribal members and the public with a comprehensive riding lesson program, offering a range of group and private lesson options in addition to increase opportunities in the areas of horsemanship.
Current program activities:
- The Equine Program has 16 horses and an arena to provide a safe riding environment for new riders and to practice for play day events
- Participate in parades (e.g., Red Earth parade, Comanche Fair, and local round-up clubs)
- Provide therapeutic riding for special needs children
- Work with a local veterinarian to develop a management plan to provide long term care for horses
